Palmeiras coach hilarious plea to Chelsea after the Blues sign Estevao Willian

The 17-year-old winger Estevao will depart Palmeiras next summer, according to manager Abel Ferreira, with Chelsea reportedly interested in signing him. Chelsea agreed to a deal of around €65 million to acquire the young player, who goes by the nickname “Messinho.”

After losing out on teammate Endrick to Real Madrid, the Blues have been after Estevao for some time. As a result, they are keen to sign the player, whom they feel to be a generational prospect. The teenager is thought to be Brazil’s next great thing.

Under the ownership of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea has been extremely active in the South American market. Notably, they have recently brought in a number of talented players from the region, including Andrey Santos and Deivid Washington.

Palmeiras manager, Abel Ferreira hilariously said something while confirming the Chelsea deal. He said:

“I hope Chelsea won’t sign any other player from us, I hope they will let us alone. Please, give us a break”.

Palmeiras, meanwhile, will lose two future superstars in addition to the substantial financial benefits they will receive from Chelsea and Real Madrid, who have already reached an agreement to buy Endrick, another wonderkid.

It is understandable how the Palmeiras boss feels losing two of his wonder kids. However, it is tough to promise that Chelsea will not be back knocking on the door again sometime soon as they seemingly like to be out there right now snapping up young talents from around the world.

Estevao certainly can do wonders with the Blues

It is once again a big season of big changes for the Blues amid the sudden departure of their boss Mauricio Pochettino after just one year of his Chelsea tenure. The upcoming boss would plan to restructure the squad signing a bunch of additions to the squad.

The West London club has always had the transfer strategy to bring in young stars at the beginning of their career under the ownership of Todd Boehly. They believe this ensures the club’s long-term plans by giving the youngsters long-term contracts. It will be interesting to see what young stars they are going to introduce to the club this summer.
