A View From The Bridge

Pep Guardiola makes huge claim about Chelsea managerial target: “He will become a Man City manager in the future”

Pep Guardiola lauds Chelsea-linked manager Vincent Kompany and backs him to become future Manchester City manager

Pep Guardiola has hailed Vincent Kompany and backed him to become the future manager of Manchester City. The Chelsea-linked manager is now closing in on becoming the new head coach of Bayern Munich.

Kompany, who took charge of Championship side Burnley and took them to Premier League promotion, but things fell apart as the Belgium manager couldn’t save his side from relegation as the Clarets were demoted to the Championship after a dismal season under the former City player.

However, it’s now unlikely that Kompany will be the head coach of the Clarets next season, as the former defender is closing in on becoming the next Bayern manager, who sacked Thomas Tuchel. It is a big step in his career, as he could manage one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

However, Guardiola feels Kompany has all the talent to become one of the best coaches and has also backed him to become City manager in the future. Speaking to the media ahead of the FA Cup final against Manchester United, he said via Fabrizio Romano:

“Vincent Kompany will become a future Manchester City manager, mark my words. Yeah, it will happen, for sure. You will call me when this is going to happen.”.

When a manager such as Pep recognises your efforts, you should be aware that you have a quality that sets you apart from other managers. After making one of the most significant decisions of his life, Kompany is poised to join Bayern, where he will acquire an immense amount of experience. In the future, if they are pleased with his efforts as a former City player, he may be appointed head coach of Manchester City.

Is it too soon for him to coach a major club? He led the Championship to Premier League promotion in his first season as manager, so what he accomplished there should be respected. Kompany will be under intense pressure since managing a major European team that has a track record of winning championships each season will put your coaching abilities to the test.
