Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson is open to continuing at Ipswich after leading them to Premier League promotion
Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson has given his verdict on where he will be playing next season after leading Ipswich to Premier League promotion after 22 years. The 20-year-old enjoyed a big breakthrough, producing 10 goals and six assists in 44 matches for them in the Championship.
The forward has been a mainstay, and his importance was massive in leading Ipswich to the English top-flight promotion for next season. Chelsea will be happy to see the rapid progress of the youngster and would be glad to add him to the roster.
However, the Blues are already stacked with the likes of Nonu Madueke and Cole Palmer on the right wing and will have to decide if they will have enough space in the squad to add the talented Jamaican next season.
But Hutchinson has spoken on his future for next season after Ipswich’s promotion and feels he would continue at the club for another campaign, (h/t Express), speaking to reporters, he said:
“I hope so. I don’t know. I’ll have to see what my agent is saying and what the manager is saying, and then go from there. I don’t know; I just want to celebrate at the moment.”
Hutchinson experienced an unbelievable breakthrough season, and he performed brilliantly for Ipswich, tallying ten goals in the league. The development he has made and his ability to lead the Championship team to the Premier League will undoubtedly please Chelsea.
Given that the Blues currently have two players occupying the right-wing position, it will be interesting to see if they bring the forward back to the team for the upcoming campaign. If they do, Madueke and the Jamaican will likely face off in the starting lineup.
