Moises Caicedo calls Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher a machine
Moises Caicedo has described his Chelsea teammate Conor Gallaghas as a machine ahead of their clash against Tottenham Hotspur. The duo have been Chelsea’s midfield mainstay alongside Enzo Fernandez this season.
While Caicedo has mainly acted as an extra defensive pair, Gallagher has functioned as a sweeper in the middle of the pitch. The England international has taken the captain’s armband after injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell for the majority of the season.
The midfielder has refined his performance a lot since last season and has been a crucial player for the Blues, but despite his excellent displays this season, the West Londoners are hoping to offload the midfielder as they feel his exit will substantially help the club financially.
But his performance hasn’t gone unnoticed after Caicedo described him as a machine in an interview with Chelsea’s official website, where he further said:
‘’Conor is like a machine, you know? I like to play alongside Conor and Enzo. With Conor, he has different characteristics.’’
Caicedo knows how much quality Gallagher adds to the squad, as his energy brings different dynamics to the game because he likes to win the ball back with his aggressive pressing. Both midfielders have shown that they are capable of leading Chelsea’s midfield and are improving with each game.
This season, Gallagher has also added a scoring touch to his game, as the midfielder has six goals across all competitions with eight assists.
