“Finished the season strong”- £63m Chelsea star’s message for his own team rings true for himself too

Marc Cucurella shares his photo on Instagram as Chelsea end season with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth

Marc Cucurella took to Instagram as Chelsea beat Bournemouth 2-1 to finish the season on a positive note. The left-back posted his photo on Instagram with the caption, ”Finished the season strong. Thanks for pushing us always, Blues.’’ with a blue heart emoji.

A player who started the season poorly will be happy that he found his form back and became an integral part of the squad in the second half of the season. Cucurella joined Brighton & Hove Albon for a fee worth £63 million, but in his first campaign, the left-back was beset with injuries.

And it appeared the fullback commenced this season on the same note, failing to put in a convincing performance and suffering injuries. The 25-year-old picked up an ankle injury in December and was out until March.

However, the former Brighton fullback returned with a bang, rediscovering his groove and solidifying his place in the team, showing the Blues why they had spent so much money on him the previous season.

Not only did he continue to put in a convincing performance, but Pochettino also tested Cucurella in midfield, using him as an inverted fullback, allowing the players to have an extra midfielder in the matches.

It paid dividends, as Chelsea put up a dominant performance when Cucurella used an inverted fullback. In some of the matches, his performance has spoken for itself. When the Blues beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0, Cucurella completed the game with the most duels and touches, take-ons and tackles were made.

Marc Cucurella managed to redeem himself before the end of the season.

Against the Cherries, he was once again in the spotlight with his display, as he registered more successful duel battles (7) than any other player. registered 100% on his successful ground duels (6/6), aerial duels (1/1) and take-ons (1/1).

In the second half of the season, his performance has only improved; if Chelsea keeps him for next season, then we will have one of the best left-backs who has only improved under Mauricio Pochettino.
