Exciting Serie A defender prefers Juventus transfer over Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen: Report

Serie A sensation rejects Chelsea and Leverkusen; chooses Juventus over them

The Serie A star defender, Riccardo Calafiori, has Juventus, Chelsea, and Leverkusen lined up for him after his sensational performance for Bologna. But the Italian club need not to worry as the Serie A star prefers them over the other two.

The 22-year-old, who established himself as Bologna’s dependable defender, has emerged as one of the major surprises of the Serie A season. He was crucial to the team’s incredible season, which resulted in a Champions League qualification.

The Italian has been the main objective for the Bianconeri to strengthen their defence for a number of months. And if his skill wasn’t enough to persuade them beforehand, his magnificent display against Paolo Montero’s team recently definitely put an end to any concerns.

According to the Italian journalist, Alfredo Pedulla, Calafiori has already rejected offers from Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen. He further wrote:

“Both Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen have insistently explored Calafiori but – we repeat – his desire is to stay in Italy. Bologna is aware of this, but will not make any discounts.”

Calafiori established himself as a solid presence at the defence and scored the first two goals in Serie A match against the Italians. As a matter of fact, after his departure, Juventus managed to pull off a noteworthy comeback from 0-3 to 3-3.

According to the source, Juventus has already initiated communication with the Emilians, who are seeking a minimum of €25 million in exchange for their Italian player. The journalist thinks the price will eventually rise, though.

Calafiori sensational goals helped Bologna get early lead

Chelsea are set to go through a number of changes this summer. There is no doubt that the Blues need some definite improvement to their defensive side after all the unnecessary goals they conceded throughout last season.
