A View From The Bridge

Chelsea keen to seal the deal for generational South American talent; avoid late surprises

Chelsea want to seal Willian Estevao deal as early as possible

Chelsea are hoping to seal a deal for Willian Estevao of Palmerias as soon as possible. The 17-year-old right-winger, who has seven goals and three assists in 18 appearances in 2024 so far, has agreed on personal terms with the Stamford Bridge outfit already.

Sure, the ink hasn’t quite hit the paper yet, but the wheels are in motion. Initial talks suggest a hefty bid of around €32m as per Fabrizio Romano. Negotiations with Palmeiras, Willian’s current club, are set to kick off soon, but Chelsea aren’t wasting any time. They want this deal wrapped up quicker than you can say samba.

The lad’s got more tricks up his sleeve than a magician at a kids’ party. As if that’s not enough, he’s as versatile as they come – a right-winger, an attacking midfielder, even a second striker if you fancy it. Talk about tactical flexibility. YouTube highlights do sell dreams, we can only hope for all of it to come to fruition for the player at the Bridge.

Now, where does Willian fit into this star-studded Chelsea lineup? Well, here’s the scoop – he’ll probably play second fiddle to Cole Palmer, who’s been tearing up the pitch and stealing hearts left, right, and centre. Palmer’s been Chelsea’s best player by a country mile, and rightly so.

Estevao will have to earn his chances and make the best use of them as well. There’s loads of promise in this player and it seems like all he needs is a platform to showcase his talent. Estevao is the typical Brazilian winger. Picture perfect passes, jaw-dropping dribbles, and goals that’ll have you jumping out of your seat.

Let’s see where things go for Chelsea in their pursuit of this young talent. While it is true that we need a few old heads in this young squad to lead and provide a sense of direction, the Blues have always been about giving youngsters a go at the top level.

Chelsea want to seal Willian Estevao deal ASAP.
