Benoit Badiashile lauds Mauricio Pochettino for restoring Chelsea’s players confidence
Benoit Badiashile has credited Mauricio Pochettino for turning the fortunes of the club around after implementing a tactical tweak. The Pochettino side dismantled West Ham United 5-0 recently as Chelsea climbed seventh in the table.
The Blues continued to occupy seventh place after Manchester United suffered crushing 4-0 defeats at Crystal Palace, and the West Londoners are now just two points shy of sixth-place Newcastle United.
Pochettino has finally used the set-up where players are feeling more comfortable and confident. The game against the Hammers was a clear justification for how each player didn’t put a foot wrong as the team collectively put on a strong display.
And Badiashile has praised the Argentine’s work at the club and feels he has been key in bringing players’s form this season, which has seen the club perform at the top level, (h/t Standard Evening), speaking to a reporter, he said:
“Of course, of course. The team is behind him. The coach has made us confident with this setup. It is helping us a lot, and we have to continue like this. I think you can see it from this game; we played a great game, and we trust him.”
If you put players in a setup that suits them, they will feel more comfortable with their game. That’s what’s on display right now. Additionally, Pochettino has now realised that every player will feel comfortable playing, and his strategy has been successful in the most recent games.

Over the past two games, the Frenchman has improved his own performance. Once again, Badiashille shows that you shouldn’t judge players based solely on their recovery from chronic ailments. There was too much brilliance to hide. It was merely a lack of confidence, which is common. He has been radiant right now. We have been missing a front-footed, combative defender for a long time and the only one who is healthy right now.
