Chelsea star Cole Palmer nominated for POTY and YPOTY awards

Cole Palmer has been making waves of waves in the Premier League, and now he has for himself a spot on the shortlist for both the EA Sports Player and Hublot Young Player of the Season Awards. Not bad for a lad who’s only been wearing the Blue since September.

Since swapping Manchester City for Chelsea, Palmer’s been on fire, rattling in 21 league goals with three matches still to go. And it’s not just about finding the back of the net – the lad’s got nine assists under his belt too, making it a grand total of 30 goal involvements in the Premier League. Not too bad for a 22-year-old, eh?

If he clinches the Player of the Season title, Palmer will be following in the footsteps of some true Chelsea legends – think N’Golo Kante, Frank Lampard, and Eden Hazard. Talk about company. But let’s face it, Palmer’s earned his stripes this season, becoming our leading goalscorer and a real standout in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. Official report here.

Cold Palmer!

And it’s not just on the domestic front where Palmer’s been making waves. The lad made his senior England debut back in November, cementing his status as one of the brightest talents in English football.

In fact, just before his 22nd birthday, Palmer made Premier League history, becoming only the third player ever to rack up 30-plus goal involvements in a single season while still a spring chicken [read: while aged 21 or younger].

As for the competition for the Player of the Season crown, it’s stiff, to say the least. You’ve got the likes of Phil Foden and Erling Haaland from Manchester City, Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk, and a whole host of other top-notch talent vying for the title. But if Palmer’s already clinched the Player of the Month for April, who’s to say he can’t go all the way and snatch the big prize too?

So, here’s to Cole Palmer – a rising star in the Premier League, and a true blue gem in the making. Let’s see if he can add another accolade to his ever-growing list of achievements. Fingers crossed.
