Since swapping Manchester City for Chelsea, Palmer’s been on fire, rattling in 21 league goals with three matches still to go. And it’s not just about finding the back of the net – the lad’s got nine assists under his belt too, making it a grand total of 30 goal involvements in the Premier League. Not too bad for a 22-year-old, eh?

If he clinches the Player of the Season title, Palmer will be following in the footsteps of some true Chelsea legends – think N’Golo Kante, Frank Lampard, and Eden Hazard. Talk about company. In fact, just before his 22nd birthday, Palmer made Premier League history, becoming only the third player ever to rack up 30-plus goal involvements in a single season while still a spring chicken [read: while aged 21 or younger].

As for the competition for the Player of the Season crown, it’s stiff, to say the least. You’ve got the likes of Phil Foden and Erling Haaland from Manchester City, Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk, and a whole host of other top-notch talent vying for the title.
