Chelsea offer Napoli Romelu Lukaku in a players-plus-cash to sign Victor Osimhen
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have made their first-ever contact with Napoli over the signing of Victor Osimhen next season, which contains a players-plus-cash deal involving Romelu Lukaku for the Nigerian striker.
The Blues have long been linked with a move for Osimhen, and now the club is ready to take the final step to bring their long-desired player next season as they hope to add a striker who possesses killer instincts in front of the goal.
However, this campaign’s scoring goals haven’t been a problem for the club, with Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson having done excellent work in front of the net after the England international produced 20 Premier League goals and Jackson 11.
But there have been instances where Chelsea have been cut out as a frustrating figure when it comes to scoring goals in crucial moments, and for that, bringing in an experienced striker who boasts an eye for a goal is important, and Osimhen stands out in that department.
We need some to finish the chance when he gets one opportunity and don’t take too many touches in the box. We are lacking that currently because our players overthink a lot before capitalising on their opportunities, and Osimhen isn’t the kind of striker who makes decisions before finishing his chances off.
Offering Romelu Lukaku to Napoli, who is also having a good season, could prove to be a wise move because the striker is familiar with Serie A demand and will certainly thrive given his time at Inter Milan.
