Chelsea legend gives a tribute to Thiago Silva after his last game for the Blues
Chelsea legend John Terry pays a heartfelt tribute to the star centre-back, Thiago Silva who is about to leave the Blues at the end of this season. Following the expiration of his contract at Stamford Bridge, the centre-back sadly revealed last month that he would be leaving the Blues this summer.
After leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, Silva joined Chelsea and has been a player of elite calibre for the team ever since. It appears that Sunday’s Premier League season’s last game for Chelsea at home against Bournemouth was his 155th and last game for the team.
Both the players and the supporters would certainly miss Silva, who was an excellent leader for the Blues. Chelsea legend John Terry thanked Silva for his tremendous work ahead of what is expected to be an emotional farewell.
Taking to his Instagram account, Terry posted photos of Thiago Silva paying a tribute to him, with the caption saying:
“Good Luck today in what will be an emotional day at the Bridge. @chelseafc. Thank you for everything you have done for our club, we Love You my friend.”
“It’s been a pleasure to watch you play week after week, to watch you train and see how you look after yourself before games and after games has been inspiring, I just wish I was a few years younger because I would have loved to have played alongside you at the back.”
“Good luck for the future @thiagosilva JT LEGEND.”
After leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Silva became a free agent and was signed by the Blues. For the West London team, he has made 112 Premier League appearances and has contributed to 32 clean sheets. He has frequently served as the defensive unit’s captain, leading them to several victories, including a UEFA Champions League cup.
Silva’s outstanding defensive and leadership qualities led Chelsea to several pieces of silverware, including the Super Cup and Club World Cup, with Silva being named Chelsea’s Player and Players’ Player of the Year last season.
The West London side hosted Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in their final league game of the season on Sunday. They performed amazingly, with Moises Caicedo and Raheem Sterling leading their side to a 2-1 victory ending the season with a blast.

With that, Silva’s last game for the Blues is done and he will now officially depart from the club. The departure of Thiago Silva will leave a void so huge that the Blues will certainly struggle to fill it for quite some time. Silva was the best leader they had at the club. Chelsea now has to find an appropriate replacement who could fill in his shoes.
