Chelsea hint massive news ahead of Nottingham clash, key player set for return

Chelsea hint that Reece James could play vs Nottingham Forest

Reece James could be in the squad ahead of the Chelsea game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening. The fullback will return to action after being sidelined since December with a hamstring injury.

The Chelsea official page on X shared a photo of James holding his captain armband which hints that the fullback could feature against Forest today after a long time.

The Blues response came from James’ tweet when he wrote ‘’see u @ 5:30 blues,’’ which is the kick-off time of the Blues’ match vs Forest. It will be a big boost for Mauricio Pochettino as he hopes to lead Chelsea into European competition next season.

The season has been a tough one for the England international, marred by several injuries that have kept him sidelined for much of the campaign. Despite being named captain, his on-field presence has been limited due to these setbacks. However, Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to reintegrate him into the squad for the final three matches, hoping to utilize his talents and leadership on the pitch.

As Chelsea vies for the sixth spot in the league table, James’s potential return to the lineup holds significance. Securing this position would offer a positive conclusion to an otherwise challenging season, providing a silver lining after falling short in previous cup competitions.

While his presence could bolster the team’s chances in these crucial matches, the club should prioritize his health, especially considering his long term availability.

Chelsea’s captain could play against Forest today.

As James works his way back to full fitness, Malo Gusto’s contributions will be crucial in maintaining Chelsea’s momentum in the final matches of the season. The Frenchman has been one of our success stories this season and adds reliable depth to a key area on the pitch.

More Chelsea news

James’s ability is clear for all to see but injuries have often threatened to ruin his career. With Gusto doing well, it is in our best interests to not play James before he is at a hundred percent. After all, there are bigger battles to fight for the Blues skipper in the years to come. Least we can do is ensure he is fit and raring to go when the moment comes.
