Chelsea already has their next priority ready; the Stoke City sensation; but needs to find a new boss first

According to the BBC, Stoke City midfielder Sol Sidibe is attracting interest from three major clubs, including Chelsea. The Blues believe the star midfielder could turn out to be a valuable addition to their squad.

Sidibe is getting ready to be a true member of Stoke City’s senior team next season. The 17-year-old midfielder defeated Northern Ireland 4-2 in a friendly match at St. George’s Park to mark his debut for the England under-18 team.

The teenage midfield player has had a good season despite Stoke only managing a 17th-place Championship finish. His stock has been increasing, as he has made eight appearances this season for the Potters and has performed admirably for the England U17s as well.

When he entered the game late in the Potters’ opening-day victory over Rotherham United last season at the age of sixteen, the record-breaking teenager became the team’s third-youngest player ever.

According to reports by the Daily Mail, with England’s under-17 team this season, Sidibe has garnered notoriety on a global scale. He is also eligible to play for Senegal and Mali, and France is contemplating calling him up. His French passport is what has made European authorities aware of this.

Chelsea’s current transfer dilemma

Chelsea is currently facing a transfer issue after the sudden departure of their boss, Mauricio Pochettino. There are already a plethora of changes to come to the club this summer. With another transfer in line and that a managerial one, Chelsea is poised to make this one a top priority for them before any other signings.

Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino part-ways by mutual consent

Chelsea are now intensifying their efforts to bring in a new head coach this summer. The Blues are reportedly considering Sebastian Hoeness, Kieran McKenna, and Enzo Maresca as possible successors to Pochettino. Hoeness is known for his play style and demeanour. He guided the team to a runner-up position in the Bundesliga in the 2023–2024 season.

McKenna is also highly regarded for his work at Ipswich Town. After an incredible season in the championship, the 38-year-old coach has guided the Tractor Boys back to the top division for the first time in 22 years.

More Chelsea news

Chelsea needs to move quickly to find a new manager. With the transfer window about to open, if the Blues remain stuck with the managerial dilemma, they will lose sight of their priority signing targets and this summer transfer window will end in tragedy for them.
