Chelsea duo send message to Ian Maatsen after Borussia Dortmund’s win vs PSG

Carney Chukwuemeka and Malo Gusto comment on Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen’s Instagram post after Borussia Dortmund’s win vs PSG

Ian Maatsen’s side Borussia Dortmund narrowly edged Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the Champions League semi-final at home last night, and the Chelsea loanee was crucial for his side to secure a hard-earned victory.

The Blues fullback heaped praise for his performance once again, and Chelsea star Malo Gusto and Carney Chukwuemeka sent him wishes on his latest Instagram post, where they commented ‘’Serious’’ and ‘’Maats’’ respectively.

Maatsen also grabbed the spotlight in the Dortmund quarterfinal second-leg clash against Atletico Madrid, where he scored an important goal to spearhead his side to the semi-final, and now going into the second leg of the last four, the German club will have a key advantage.

Maatsen will have a massive chance to steer his side to the final of the Champions League for the first time in his playing career after the fullback was neglected at Chelsea and didn’t get deserving minutes on the pitch.

The move to Dortmund looked more sensible than ever, where many young players have established themselves as prominent players. It’s Maatsen’s first season only at the Bundesliga club, and he has already made himself a star of the team and became a regular starter.

Chelsea fans certainly didn’t like how Maatsen was neglected at the club and didn’t get more game time as Mauricio Pochettino barely showed trust in him to give him more chances, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and the Argentine manager rather used Levi Colwill on left-back position. His Chelsea teammates are aware of his talent, and their comments highlight how much the Dutch fullback has become a known figure this season.

Maatsen has a chance to play his first-ever Champions League final if his side defends their lead going into the second leg of the semi-final against PSG. The fullback has won the trust of the Dortmund manager, and his frequent minutes on the pitch are the reason for his top performance for them. Chelsea are likely to sell the Dutchman due to their financial setbacks, and the German club will hope to keep the player beyond this season.
