Barcelona has no plans on selling their heavyweight including the Chelsea target
Reports from Mundo Deportivo confirm that Barcelona currently has no plans to sell their heavyweight, including Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo, along with midfield gems Pedri and Gavi.
Barca is aware of the attention that Araujo is receiving; in the last few days, Chelsea has joined them, and Bayern Munich has already. However, selling him is not Barcelona’s goal.
Barcelona are confident that Arauja will prioritise staying at the Spanish club to be a part of their upcoming manager Hansi Flick‘s new project in the next season. Arauja is a key player for the Spanish side.
Todd Boehly might be ready to spend an additional few million dollars on a player who is among the greatest when he is performing at his peak but clearly below average when he isn’t, which is not surprising considering his unrealistic wealth.
The 25-year-old has made an impactful 37 appearances for the Spanish club this season in all competitions and helped them through their challenges by being a solid defensive figure at the back.
With the managerial changes happening at Barcelona, they want their key young stars in the squad to bolster the team for next season’s challenges. Moreover, Arauja has already expressed his honest feelings regarding his stance at the club, as he is happy to be a part of Barcelona and that’s why he rejected recent offers from several clubs, including Chelsea.
Arauja’s agent and Barcelona would have a final discussion soon regarding the defender’s future at the club. Chelsea could only wait and prepare their offers; just in case there is some positive news, then they might have their chance.

It makes sense for Chelsea, the dominant team in west London, to search for a top centre-back like Araujo to step in and provide a long-term successor for the seasoned Brazilian, since Thiago Silva departed the club this summer as a free agent.
Enzo Maresca, who is taking over the reigns at Stamford Bridge this summer, must be willing to bolster certain areas of the squad in order to prepare the strongest starting XI for the upcoming season.
