Chelsea leading the race to sign Victor Osimhen

Chelsea have been provided a major boost in pursuit of Victor Osimhen, as the forward is fully focused on joining the West Londoners despite the exit of Mauricio Pochettino this week.

According to Team Talk, the Nigerian striker with a €130 million (£111 million) release clause and 17 goals in all competitions has given his verbal approval to join the club in the summer, putting the Blues in the driving seat ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi clubs.

The only thing left is to sort out his contract, and the Blues are willing to give him a better salary than Napoli. Osimhen is motivated to join the club and lead their attacking line next season. Chelsea have been pursuing the 25-year-old since last season, and it appears it has come to fruition.

However, the key issue will be agreeing to a fee with Napoli, and there is a long way to go for that. Napoli have set Osimhen’s release clause after the striker signed a new deal with the Serie A club. Whoever meets the clause will have the service of Osimhen.

Cheslea hopes to be one, as Osimhen is an ideal signing to fill their No. 9 role next season. Chelsea’s goal totals have increased significantly, but they have also lost games due to disastrous finishing in certain matches. For this reason, the club would benefit from adding someone with Osimhen finishing ability.

Chelse have verbally reached an agreement with Victor Osimhen

The addition of Osimhen will greatly benefit the team, as our midfielders have one of the best finishers to feed the ball and he will provide Nicolas Jackson with some much-needed competition. The crucial part of his signing, though, is Chelsea and Napoli agreeing on a price.

Given how highly Napoli regards him, this will be challenging, and the Blues will make an effort to reduce his fee. We already have a verbal agreement in place with the striker, so we’ll see what happens over the course of this long summer between the two clubs.
