Chelsea must be full of excitement after their young star-to-be, Kendry Paez scored an absolutely stunning goal ahead of his arrival to Stamford Bridge
As Chelsea supporters, we don’t have much to grin about right now, following what appears to be another extremely erratic season. But one thing that has us delighted is the growth of teenage sensation Kendry Paez, who will join Chelsea this summer.
The senior Ecuador international is only 16 years old, yet he already plays like a player at the peak of his career. He is still with his team, Independiente Del Valle, before officially joining Chelsea at the conclusion of the season.
Last night, he played against Palmeiras and scored an amazing wonder goal as well as an assist in a game that he was inexplicably on the losing team in, going down 3-2 at home following a late stoppage-time winner by the visitors.
Kendry Paez: A rising star
Paez, who will officially join Chelsea for £17.2 million when he turns 18 in May 2025, made history in October by being the youngest South American to score in a World Cup qualifier.
He became the youngest goal scorer in the Ecuadorian Serie A at the age of 15, and his skills as a left-footed midfielder-winger have earned him comparisons to football greats such as Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria.
Before signing with Chelsea, Paez was scouted by big European teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Manchester City. He is presently learning English in preparation for his transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The young star is already making a name for himself by netting three goals and providing two assists in just 10 appearances this season. Chelsea must be considering themselves lucky, as the star is going to join them soon.
Paez might be the bright light in the otherwise dark times that Chelsea is currently facing. With missing golden chances and conceding a lot of goals, the Blues are having somewhat of a disappointing season.
