Report: Tottenham Hotspur could help Chelsea pocket guaranteed £24m if they do their job this week

Tottenham Hotspur could play key role in Chelsea loanee Lewis Hall permanent move to Newcastle United

As per Express, Chelsea are tipped to profit £24 million if their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur triumphs over Newcastle United. The West Londoners loaned academy player Lewis Hall, who emerged last campaign as a prominent figure.

Hall instantly became part of the senior side and featured in nine Premier League games after injuries to Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella. However, it came as a blow when the Blues decided to loan their academy player and inserted a clause of obligation to buy.

And now the permanent move for Hall could transpire this week if Tottenham beat the Magpies in their Saturday clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The clause will become active if the Tyneside club finishes 15th or higher in the Premier League table.

The Magpies are eighth in the table and 13 points behind the fourth spot. Meanwhile, the Blues are two points adrift of the Magpies in the table, languishing in ninth place.

Since his loan move to Tyneside, the left-back has barely been featured, making only 11 Premier League appearances. With so much talent, it was petty to see the fullback becoming a bench warmer. At Chelsea, he showed glimpses of his talent and was seen as the future left-back of the club. However, the Blues’ exorbitant spending forced them to loan some academy players.

Now the Blues will be hoping their North London rivals will do them a huge favour. Tottenham have been brilliant this season under Ange Postecoglou and are fourth in the Premier League table. The Austrian manager has developed Spurs into a top-four contenders as they hope to secure a Champions League spot next season.

Lewis Hall’s permanent move to Newcastle United could become active this week.

This season, they have proven to be a formidable opponent among all teams, and the Magpies have struggled to emulate their success from the previous campaign when they made it to the top four, as they are far enough behind them to take fourth place this season.

The Blues, meantime, will be hoping that Hall’s permanent move goes through since it will enable them to make the first profit of the season.
