Chelsea players could start a protest if the club board decides to sack Mauricio Pochettino after the end of the season. Following a damaging 5-0 defeat to Arsenal, the pressure has once again grown on the Argentine manager.
And the rumours have already started to swirl regarding the sacking of the 52-year-old. However, the squad believes it will be naïve to relieve Pochettino of his job, as they feel he is the best manager and possesses astute man management.
The Blues’ expensive roster feels that Pochettino is doing everything to bring a sense of unity to the squad, regardless of the results, and so the former Tottenham Hotspur manager has done decent work amid an injury crisis and an inexperienced squad.
A source has told the Sun outlet that players have been convinced by Pochettino’s management, and the further statement reads:
“They are all buying into what Poch is trying to do. The problems at Chelsea are not all his fault. Some of the players think he is the best man-manager in the business. If Poch gets sacked, it won’t go down well at all. He is not the problem.”
One of the qualities of managers is getting along with players because when the players are happy with your management, they will always deliver on the pitch. Pochettino might have formed a good relationship with his players, and now he would expect them to perform on the pitch and show what they are capable of.
First, we must evaluate the circumstances for the upcoming season and consider Pochettino’s performances thus far. Although it appears very impossible given the games we have ahead of us, he still has a chance to lead the Blues to participation in Europe.
With six games remaining, there’s no reason to fire Pochettino at this time. It won’t provide a solution. At the end of the season, we have to assess the situation and decide whether to extend Pochettino’s tenure or choose a new coach.
