Liverpool and Chelsea to vie for ‘special’ player with ‘incredible future’ who has ‘bargain’ release clause

Chelsea and Liverpool could indulge in signing Nico Williams

Liverpool and Chelsea are set to be involved in their pursuit of a special player with an incredible future Nico Williams in the summer transfer window. However, the Reds feel the Blues could hijack their deal to sign the Spanish forward, who has been seen as a Mohamed Salah replacement at the club.

As per Diario AS, via Express, Williams has a bargain £43 million clause release clause in his deal, and both clubs could trigger it in the summer window. The Spanish forward has been in high demand following his exploits at Bilbao.

Liverpool are already planning their life after Salah, who is touted to leave the club in the summer and join Saudi Arabia. Moreover, if the Egyptian does leave the club, incoming Liverpool’s CEO of football, Michael Edwards, is said to favour Spain’s winger Williams.

However, the Reds will face an intense battle to sign the forward, as Chelsea are keen on acquiring the player in the summer. Williams has been in incredible form this campaign, registering six goals and providing 14 assists in all competitions this season.

Williams is a versatile forward who can play on both the left and right wings. Liverpool bringing the 21-year-old Spanish player will have big shoes to fill in as they see him as an ideal Salah replacement who has achieved so much at the club.

The Blues have shown their inclination towards signing young prospects. In their efforts to sign young players, they have raised the level of competition. The Blues were determined to sign both Mykhaylo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez, and they even managed to sabotage Arsenal’s efforts to sign Mudryk.

Liverpool identify Nico Williams as Mohamed Salah replacement for next season.

They had already engaged in a bidding war when Chelsea and Liverpool fought it out to recruit Moises Caicedo, with the Blues coming out on top. Thus, we can now anticipate that they will do all in their power to sign Williams, who has an affordable asking price.

However, Chelsea already have three players Mudryk, Christopher Nkunku, and Raheem Sterling operating from the left wing so if we are to sign Williams, we have to either offload one of the aforementioned players to bring the 21-year-old.
