Cesc Fabregas recently unveiled his all-time Premier League XI, and it’s packed with legends who left their mark on the English game during his time. Among them stand three Chelsea stalwarts who embodied the club’s spirit: Ashley Cole, John Terry and Didier Drogba.

Cole, who sees himself hailed as one of the finest left-backs of his generation, was a fortress in himself within the Chelsea backline. His defensive prowess and blistering runs down the wing were certainly vital in Chelsea’s triumphs, including that unforgettable night in Munich. Cole’s knack for shutting down attackers while posing a threat going forward made him a nightmare for opponents and a hero for the Blues faithful. Here is what Cesc told UnitedinFocus:

“David Seaman, Ashley Cole, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Kyle Walker,”

“In the midfield, Patrick Vieira, Steven Gerrard, Cristiano Ronaldo then either David Silva or Kevin de Bruyne, not sure which. (And up front) Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba.”

And then there’s JT, Captain, Leader, Legend. John Terry‘s name is synonymous with Chelsea’s glory days. As the club’s long-serving captain, Terry marshalled the defence with authority and led by example on and off the pitch. It only makes sense for a player as glorious as JT to walk into any Premier League all-time XI.

The Drog. Didier. The Ivorian FINISHER was a force of nature on the pitch, terrorising defences with his brute strength, aerial prowess, and lethal finishing. Drogba’s crowning moment came in the 2012 Champions League final, where he delivered a masterclass performance to help Chelsea lift the coveted trophy for the first time in their history. His knack for scoring in big games and his unwavering passion for the club surely endeared him to Chelsea fans worldwide, cementing his status as one of the greatest players ever to don the blue shirt.

But it wasn’t just their on-field heroics that made Cole, Terry, and Drogba Chelsea legends; it was their leadership, their commitment, and their unwavering dedication to the cause that set them apart. Whether it was leading by example on the pitch or providing guidance and inspiration off it, these three players epitomised everything Chelsea stood for and continue to serve as role models for the next generation of Blues stars.

Their never-say-die attitude, work ethic, and passion for the badge set the standard for what it meant to wear the Chelsea shirt. That is something the current crop of lads could learn something from.
