Chelsea willing to offer €60m to sign underrated Dutchman playing for Serie A side

Dutch destroyer? Chelsea target Atalanta’s in-form midfielder Teun Koopmeiners

Chelsea are open to fritter away €60 million to land Atalanta’s highly rated midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, per Sportmediaset.

The Blues have been linked with the Dutch midfielder for some time now, and they are said to be watching him more and more every passing week. Teun Koopmeiners has been enjoying a magnificent season under Gian Piero Gasperini this season, as the 26-year-old Dutchman boasts a splendid tally of 17 goal contributions this season, of which he scored 13 goals in 38 appearances in the ongoing campaign and is doing admirably for the Bergamo club.

The former AZ Alkmaar midfielder played a key role in a 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield last week, with multiple clubs in the stands having a look at him.

Chelsea’s scouting presence at the Liverpool match was focused on observing Teun Koopmeiners and assessing his performance against a top-tier Premier League side. This wasn’t the first time the West London club had monitored the 26-year-old, indicating a sustained interest in the Dutch midfielder.

Pochettino and his team at Chelsea are prepared to make a substantial offer of €60 million to Atalanta, signalling their intent to secure Koopmeiners’ services. With his wealth of experience and quality in midfield, Koopmeiners represents an enticing prospect for Chelsea as they seek to bolster their squad with seasoned talent.

Despite Chelsea’s interest in Teun Koopmeiners, they are likely to face stiff competition from domestic rivals Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as Italian giants Juventus, who are also eyeing a potential move for the 26-year-old midfielder. The competition for Koopmeiners’ signature underscores his desirability and the quality he would bring to any team.

However, the ultimate decision may hinge on financial considerations. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea’s competitors are willing to match the financial might of Todd Boehly & Co., who have shown a willingness to invest in top talent in the past. With multiple suitors vying for Koopmeiners’ services, the negotiation process is likely to be intense, with each club seeking to outbid the others and secure the midfielder’s signature.
