A View From The Bridge

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has chance to do something only Andy Cole and Harry Kane have done in PL history

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has a chance to top both the goals and assists charts this season

There wasn’t a lot of fuss when Cole Palmer joined Chelsea since the supporters thought he was just another player. Now, fast-forward to that point: he is already breaking records and has emerged as the Blues’ most valuable player.

Palmer scoring 20 Premier League goals in his first season as a Chelsea player was least expected from him, but he has been monstrous for the club and is competing with Erling Haaland for the Premier League Golden Boot this season.

And now the forward has another chance to set a new record in a Premier League season with the most goals and assists. As per Squawka Only two players have finished a PL season with the outright most goals and assists: Harry Kane in the 20/21 campaign and Andy Cole in the 93/94 season.

Palmer is having a standout season individually, with an impressive tally of 20 goals and nine assists so far this season. With the potential to reach double-digit assists and several games remaining, there’s still room for him to further enhance his statistics.

Indeed, every team relies on a player who can step up and carry the team, particularly when others are struggling or uncertain. Palmer demonstrates the qualities needed to excel in these moments, capable of single-handedly altering the course of a game with his skill and determination. His contributions have undoubtedly been instrumental for the team, even during challenging periods throughout the season.

Cole Palmer has been setting new records this season.

Palmer deserves all the praise he’s receiving as he’s been nothing short of phenomenal for the club. His impact has been truly transformative, serving as a difference-maker and significantly strengthening our attacking force.

In contrast to the struggles we faced in scoring goals last campaign, the 21-year-old’s arrival has made a massive difference. His ability to find the back of the net has been remarkable, with him contributing to half of our goals this season. His presence on the pitch has been invaluable, and his contributions have been instrumental in driving the team’s success.

Palmer has shown that he excels in any circumstance, consistently delivering impressive performances regardless of the team’s overall form. With his remarkable ability to find the back of the net, it’s evident that he has the potential to set new records with us.

As the campaign draws to a close, Palmer has one more opportunity to leave his mark and potentially set a new record for scoring the most goals and providing the most assists. Given his talent and determination, there’s every reason to believe that he will seize this chance and further solidify his legacy at the club.
