Endrick agent says Chelsea will learn will lesson after missing out on Brazilian signing
Endrick agent Frederico Pena has taken a jibe at Chelsea and advised them to learn from their own mistakes after the Blues failed to sign with the Brazilian teenager. The 17-year-old will join Real Madrid next summer after his emergence from the Palmeiras.
Endrick rose to prominence when he produced eight goals in seven games at the Copa Sao Paulo de Futebol Junior U20 tournament back in 2022. His performance stimulated the attention of many European clubs, and among them was Chelsea.
The Blues were intrigued by the calibre of Endrick and entered into negotiations to sign him, but were reluctant to meet Palmeiras’ demands, which saw Real pounce on his signing and agree to sign the striker for £52 million in December 2022.
After his move to Los Angeles, Endrick’s agent revealed how many clubs were keen on signing him. Speaking to the Telegraph, Frederico Pena said via Football.London:
“I think Real decided that they were never going to miss another talent like Vini or Endrick after Neymar moved to Barcelona. Maybe there is a lesson for Chelsea because they were in front at the start. The boy’s parents visited Cobham and were impressed, but Chelsea were worried about the fee, and then when Real came in and were prepared to pay what Palmeiras wanted, it became almost impossible for them.”
Chelsea may have left the race because they felt the price tag was prohibitively expensive for a youth like Endrick, but perhaps it will teach them a lesson. However, since Todd Boehly arrived, we have been quite active in recruiting Brazilian players and have been linked with other emerging talents from Brazil.

Our investment in Brazilian sensations may not be on par with Real; we have brought Andrey Santos, David Washington, and Angelo Gabriel, and they boast plenty of talent. In the future, we will discover more such talented stars from Brazil, and hopefully, the Blues won’t’ miss out on it because of their price tag, in the future, they will have the potential to become famous players.
