Marc Cucurella believes Chelse can still end the season in best way

Marc Cucurella believes Chelsea can still conclude the season on a positive note despite a mixed run this campaign. The Blues are 11th in the Premier League table and are hoping to secure a European spot next season.

Considering the amount of money the team spent throughout the last three transfer windows, the performance has fallen short of expectations. Chelsea haven’t been able to move up the table because of their lacklustre performance.

But after the team’s recent 3-2 victory over Newcastle United, hopes and enthusiasm have been sparked once more, and Mauricio Pochettino can only hope that this form continues. The former Brighton & Hove Albion fullback feels the season is still salvageable and told NBC Sport via Football.London:

“This is a process. We are not happy enough with the results yet, but we have another 10 or 15 games to finish the season; we can finish in the best way.”

This is Pochettino’s first season, and the amount of expectation that the board and fans have already placed on him is excessive because he has taken over a squad that needs more time than a season to get back to full strength. Things might have gone differently and more quickly if he had some more seasoned players.

We will need to win every game and hope that the teams above us lose their respective games if we are to wrap out the season in a style that pleases the players, supporters, and board. It will be difficult since, as we all know, this is a young team and producing reliable outcomes has been a major issue.

We can try to finish in the top six or top five this season because we are only four points below seventh place. It will be a tricky task for this inexperienced squad but they have always showed determination in the games and if they continue with the same attitude then a European spot is attainable.
