A View From The Bridge

Joe Cole urges Chelsea to make shock moves for Real Madrid duo

Jole Cole encourages Chelsea to sign Luka Modric and Toni Kroos

Joe Cole has advised Chelsea to bring in more experienced players in the midfield position and has suggested the names of two renowned midfielders stars of Real Madrid Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

The Blues, under the new ownership of Todd Boehly, have emphasized signing young players, and in the last three transfer windows, the club’s outlay has gone up to a mammoth £1 billion. However, amid the exorbitant spending, the results have been subpar as Chelsea struggles to maintain a consistent win.

Since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, they have significantly transformed their performance and also reached the Carabao Cup final but fell short to Liverpool, losing 1-0. But their domestic ambitions are still alive after they reached the final of the FA Cup.

However, Cole feels if the Blues want to expedite their progress and turn into a competitive side, then they should bring in more seasoned players, (h/t Daily Mail), speaking to TalkSport, he said:

Does Luka Modric want to come and play in the Premier League for one more year? He’s still doing bits at Real Madrid. How much has he helped [Eduardo] Camavinga, [Aurelien] Tchouameni, and [Federico] Valverde? He would have had such an influence on them as players. Toni Kroos is 34, but does he want to test himself at his age by coming over here and helping out this young squad?’

Joe Cole asks Chelsea to sign Kroos and Modric.

Cole presented the best case of how young players are quickly developed when they play alongside seasoned players. Modric and Kroos are certainly having a big impact on Real Madrid youngsters because they have decades of experience, have been playing in the top league, and consistently deliver despite their age.

Real Madrid’s evergreen midfield duo Modric and Kroos, are still at the top of their game despite being in their late 30s, which affirms a lot about their effectiveness. Chelsea needs players like them to help develop the youthful talent the team has. Since a lot may change in a year, both midfield players still have it in them to perform at the highest level for a further year.

The club will gain a lot from adding a few seasoned players, and their signing will help rectify the weaknesses of young players. Experienced players assist novice players in correcting their errors because they are aware of how to address these inadequacies. Modric and Kroos will be fantastic additions, and since their contracts expire at the end of the current campaign, we can sign them for nothing.
