Jamie Carragher hopes for Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk to build on positives

23-year-old Mykhailo Mudryk, ever since his transfer to Chelsea in the January window of 2023, has not had it all gaga during his time at Stamford Bridge. While the scoreline might come across as misleading, the Magpies got their second goal only in added time and is not a pure reflection of how well the Blues played against them. Even though Eddie Howe’s side enjoyed more possession, Chelsea hit them on the counter in trademark Mauricio Pochettino style and secured three vital points in their quest for a European spot.

Coming off the bench for Raheem Sterling in the 71st minute, Mudryk caught the Newcastle backline off guard, as he dribbled past the lot and round the keeper to slot his goal into an empty net. This marked his second goal in his last three appearances.
