Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson wins Championship Player of the Month award
Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson has been looking like his old self again, one who was playing proficiently for the Arsenal academy before he moved sides. He has been in outstanding touch lately with a contribution of either a goal or an assist in February in five of his six league appearances in the month. The 20-year-old has netted all three of his goals into injury time while independently winning four points for Ipswich Town.
His extraordinary performances have earned him the Championship Player of the Month award. Chelsea fans would be hoping this to be the start of a blissful career in the Blues. He posted about being grateful for receiving the award on Twitter:
Omari Hutchinson beat one of the former Chelsea players Iké Ugbo to the PoTM award. Ugbo is currently plying his trade at Sheffield Wednesday on loan from ES Troyes who were relegated from French top tier Ligue 1 last season and were forced to look for loan opportunities for young Ugbo. Ike Ugbo spent the first half of the season with Cardiff City before switching sides in January. The 25-year-old has six goals in eleven appearances in his recent spell.
Going a year back, Omari Hutchinson made his Premier League debut against Manchester City when he was propelled in the final twenty-odd minutes by then-Chelsea boss Graham Potter on January 5, 2023. He has always been a highly-rated prospect who has been running down the wings with his exquisite dribbles and skillset.
