A View From The Bridge

Chelsea target’s father says he expects his son to stay at Napoli next season

Father of Chelsea target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia rules out Napoli exit next summer

The future of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at Napoli may have been the subject of speculation, but his father has poured cold water on rumours of an imminent departure, providing clarity amid interest from top Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

For Chelsea, the pursuit of Kvaratskhelia represents a strategic move to enhance their attacking prowess in the upcoming transfer window. As they seek to fortify their right-wing options, the Georgian forward emerges as an enticing prospect, possessing the individual quality and game-changing abilities desired by the Blues.

With Napoli, Kvaratskhelia showcased his talent and played a pivotal role in their Scudetto triumph last season, forming a formidable partnership with Victor Osimhen. His performances have garnered attention across Europe, making him a coveted asset for clubs in search of attacking firepower.

However, the forward’s Napoli contract is until 2027, and if he decides to leave the Serie A club, they will hope to pocket a satisfactory profit from his exit. But those exit rumours have been dismissed by his father, Badri, who told Radio Serie A (h/t The Sun), :

“He’s the only one who can choose whether to stay at Napoli, but I think he will continue wearing the Napoli shirt. In any case, I will respect his decision.”

The right flank has been an area of concern for the Blues, lacking the stability and impact required to maintain a formidable attacking threat. Sterling’s performances have been inconsistent, failing to provide the desired level of productivity and reliability expected from a key attacking player.

Meanwhile, Mudryk’s developmental phase means that he is still acclimatizing to the demands of top-level football, making it challenging for him to consistently deliver standout performances. Additionally, Nkunku’s persistent injury issues have further compounded Chelsea’s woes on the right wing, depriving the team of a reliable option throughout the season.

At just 23 years old, Kvaratskhelia still has room for growth and development, suggesting that his best years are yet to come. His performances this season indicate a player with maturity beyond his years, capable of influencing games with his skill, vision, and goal-scoring prowess.

Bringing Kvaratskhelia to Chelsea could provide a significant boost to the team’s attacking options on the left flank. His ability to both score goals and create chances for teammates would add a new dimension to the Blues’ attacking play, providing additional firepower and creativity in the final third.

At Chelsea, Kvaratskhelia’s skill set aligns perfectly with the club’s aspirations, offering a dynamic presence on the right flank capable of unlocking defenses and providing a cutting edge in crucial moments. His potential addition would not only bolster the team’s attacking options but also inject fresh energy and creativity into the squad.
