“I have to keep learning”- Chelsea star opens up on his love for playing piano and what he does off the field in London

Chelsea star Axel Disasi opens up about his love for piano and London

Away from the intensity of the football pitch, Chelsea star Axel Disasi has found solace and relaxation in exploring London, spending quality time with family, and honing his piano skills. Despite the demands of professional football, Disasi has managed to prioritize his mental well-being by engaging in activities that bring him joy and tranquillity.

Remarkably, Disasi has never experienced a traditional football-related injury throughout his professional career. The only time he was unavailable for selection was due to contracting coronavirus in early 2022, which forced him to miss two Monaco games. This resilience and fitness highlight his commitment to maintaining peak physical condition.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Disasi attributes his ability to stay fit and injury-free to the importance of relaxation in his routine. Playing the piano has become a therapeutic outlet for him, allowing him to clear his mind and unwind off the pitch. By nurturing his mental well-being through music and leisure activities, Disasi demonstrates the importance of holistic self-care for athletes navigating the demands of elite-level football.

The star has been a remarkable player

According to the club’s media, Disasi said:

“I started playing the piano when I was at Reims, my club before Monaco, when I was going through a difficult period.”

“It helped me a lot because it allowed me to think of other things. I like the sound. It’s peaceful and relaxing. I have taught myself, bit by bit. I took a small piano and started watching tutorials on YouTube. Even if there are periods during which I don’t practice too much, I have learned some pieces and that allows me to think of something else.”

The Frenchman recognizes the significance of relaxation and decompression off the field, understanding that maintaining a balanced mindset is crucial for peak performance on match days. In addition to honing his piano skills as a source of relaxation, Disasi also values the camaraderie and lighthearted moments shared with his teammates during training sessions and off-field interactions.

He further says:

“I want to bring my positive energy to this group, to be happy, to have a laugh with my team-mates. I like to have fun, to joke. It’s important because it’s a young group who are very close and laugh together. I like that a lot.”

The star likes to express his emotions completely

The Frenchman’s seamless integration into the team despite numerous changes reflects his adaptability and leadership qualities, which have undoubtedly contributed to his outstanding form and performance throughout the season. His ability to express his emotions fully during tackles or blocks not only energizes the team but also fosters a positive environment within the squad.

Disasi’s approach underscores the multifaceted nature of athlete development and the significance of holistic well-being in achieving peak performance. His ability to balance physical training with mental relaxation techniques showcases a comprehensive approach to player preparation, which could serve as a model for others at Stamford Bridge.
