As per Mail Sport, via Express, Phil Lynch, who handled the content for Manchester United, is set to join Chelsea after the media guru was told to “get the f**k away” from the fans and players by Gary Neville.
Lynch arrived at United in 2017 and was tasked with doing United media content and output on MUTV. The chief executive of media played a key role in helping Premier League media cater to a global audience.
His prominence grew in the sports media industry, and his posts used to garner massive amounts of attention on social media. He also took charge of crypto and NFTs.
However, in 2021, he was confronted by former United player Neville when he explained how he managed to influence the views of fans on players, which didn’t go down well with Neville, who urged Lynch to get out of his club.
But Lynch could soon be back to what he used to do for Premier League clubs as Chelsea wants to make the former United chief executive of media global head of digital for BlueCo.
Social media has become one of the most important means of getting your message across to the masses, and Chelsea certainly have a large number of fans across the world. To get a larger audience attracted to your content, we need an intellectual individual media person who will help get more people to see our content.
Lynch seemed to have done an exceptional job at United, but as he gained notoriety, he was able to gain more momentum on United’s social media, which may have pushed him over his head. Neville took no exception to his remarks about United’s players, believing that he should have been handling United’s content and that they were incorrect.
It is hoped that by joining Chelsea, he will increase revenue for the team and attract major broadcast sponsors, as a greater audience will also boost revenue.
