Andy Robertson says Liverpool will be pumped up to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final. The Reds will be aiming to win the trophy for Jurgen Klopp, who will leave the club after the end of the season.
However, Liverpool players want their head coach to leave the club with some silverware, and their shot at winning the first trophy of the season will come against Chelsea when both sides contend in the Carabao Cup final.
Liverpool are at the top of the Premier League table and are still in the FA Cup and Europa League. They have a chance of winning a quadruple this season, but it all depends on their performance. So far, they have been dominant despite facing many injuries.
But Robertson claims his side is fully prepared to face Chelsea and is hoping to give the German manager one of the best sendoffs. (h/t Express) The left-back further said:
“We know that the manager who has taken this club back to where it belongs is leaving in the summer, and we would like him to go with a big send-off.’’
On Sunday, we will play a better-prepared Liverpool team that is intent on winning the trophy. They will be fully focused. The difference between a young and seasoned club is how they perform, and Liverpool have been outstanding this season despite the injuries. They have a seasoned team that consistently performs at the highest level.
There has already been a final between Mauricio Pochettino and Klopp, and this one will be their second meeting. So, today will be significant for both parties. While for Klopp it will mark the final moments with the Reds winning a trophy, winning the Carabao Cup for the Blues will signal the beginning of Chelsea’s new chapter under Pochettino.
