Report: Doubt creeps into Chelsea dressing room after Wolves humiliation

Chelsea players have started to doubt Mauricio Pochettino’s staff and his analytical information

Chelsea suffered the most crushing defeats last week, which heightened the atmosphere at Cobham, and the players have started questioning Mauricio Pochettino’s tactics.

According to the Daily Mail, (h/t Metro), the morale of players during training has hit an all-time low, and trust issues have started surfacing among the Argentine manager’s staff.

Players are now least interested in doing extra work and leave the ground as soon as the training ends, and now there is less unity in the team among the players and staff.

The West Londoners fell back to 11th spot in the Premier League after a 4-2 defeat to Wolves on Sunday; they suffered a similar setback midweek at Anfield. Both losses have been a big block for the players and the managers, and the future seems to be getting dark for the former Tottenham Hotspur coach.

Pochettino needs to adapt to a new approach now.

The Pochettino style of play has received mixed reactions from the fans, and it looks like he should change his approach and play the players in their natural positions to see if it will pay dividends.

The players do not seem to be supporting the boss, and his training sessions appear stale. There are instances when it’s the players’ attitude, and in contemporary football, improper upbringing of young players can lead to attitude changes that are challenging to control.

Mauricio Pochettino has been shown a lack of trust by players after Liverpool and Wolves’ defeat.

At Spurs, he used to host a BBQ lunch where players and their family members would unite and enjoy the meal. This was the key to forming a great group at Spurs, and the players thrived under him. Now it will be a good chance to do the same at Chelsea, where the players are showing a lack of trust in his tactics.

He still has the rest of the season to go, so perhaps he can save the season and guarantee a top-four finish with the right technique. And if this doesn’t happen then pressure will grow and the board will eventually have to make the difficult decision.
