Kendry Paez will be in stands to watch Chelsea vs Liverpool Carabao Cup final
Fabrizio Romano reveals teenager Kendry Páez will be in the stands to witness the Liverpool game against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on February 25th. Paez is also already in London and will train with the Chelsea team as part of the club’s development plan.
Due to his age, Paez couldn’t be drafted into the senior team due to the Premier League rule that players can’t play who are under the age of 18. The 16-year-old was signed for £17.2 million from Independiente del Valle in June.
Paez is a versatile player who can play as an attacking midfielder and a second striker. He has also made his debut for Ecuador, making five appearances and adding a goal to his name.
The teenager is a sensational player who can beat opponents with his body feints, immaculate touches, and ball-striking ability. His performance has drawn comparisons with Lionel Messi.
He is quick and boosts confidence when playing football. Chelsea will be looking forward to welcoming him into the training programme, where he will learn about the club’s culture and get to know his teammates.
The 16-year-old is seen as a generational talent and can show great maturity despite his age. The Blues were quick to sign Paez, who impressed at Independiente, featuring 29 times for them.
There is a long way for Paez to become a Chelsea player, as he is still young and has two years before he turns 18. Chelsea will be hoping to draft him into the senior team when he is 18.
With his performance, he has the capability to become the next great thing because of his impeccable talent. Chelsea has a player of the future who, given the right coaching, has the potential to rank among the team’s greatest ever.
