Chelsea likely to sell four other players before selling Mykhaylo Mudryk, says journo

Ben Jacobs reveals Chelsea set to offload many big names in summer window

Journalist Ben Jacobs reveals Chelsea have added a slew of players who will be offloaded once the summer transfer window arrives. The Blues are hoping to gain some profit after the club has already crossed €1 billion in spending under Todd Boehly.

The January transfer window was intended to bring in some money for the Blues. Even so, they were only able to loan Armando Broja to Fulham and Ian Maatsen to Borussia Dortmund.

But the summer window could see the sale of plenty of Chelsea players, and most might be academy players, as the club looks to earn a pure profit through their sale.

But Ben Jacobs has revealed some names who could be sold next summer. Speaking to GiveMeSport, the transfer journalist shared his feelings on the Blues transfer window and said:

“Come the summer, Chelsea has other names on the permanent sale list deemed surplus to requirements for which they can pull in fees. Lukaku is one, and Maatsen is another that Chelsea would have sold in January if they could have done so. Money will likely come in when the obligation is triggered for Lewis Hall at Newcastle. The feeling is that it’s a case of when or if he permanently moves there based on the obligation terms.”

“There’s Chalobah, possibly Cucurella, and Gallagher. So, there are enough other sellable assets that would mean Chelsea would not be forced to bring in a fee for Mudyrk.”

We shouldn’t be attempting to sell Mudryk because we paid a high price for him, and it hasn’t been worth it given how young he is and how difficult it is to play in the Premier League. It would be prudent to loan him money so that he could hone some of his game approach and obtain some playing time.

Mudyrk has performed rather well this season, but he has suddenly had a decline in performance, which explains why he has hardly played and is only utilised as a substitute. Without our assistance, his development will undoubtedly be impacted.

The fates of other players at Chelsea are still up in the air. In addition to Marc Cucurella, Conor, and Trevoh Chalobah, we can also observe that Maatsen and Armando Broja are already on loan. We are in dire need of funds, therefore it wouldn’t be shocking if a few marquee players were to be offloaded during the upcoming transfer window.
