Chelsea booked Hilton Hotel before Carabao Cup final where Liverpool usually stays for domestic cup finals
It seems like Chelsea was well prepared for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, as they booked their opposition hotel to stay before the big game and thought they were in the driving seat with that tactic.
As per Mail Sport, (h/t Express), Chelsea booked their hotel into the Hilton hotel, where Liverpool usually books before the finals at Wembley, given the location is a stone’s throw from the stadium, and it was thought to be a prudent move by Chelsea.
Chelsea thought it was a wise move from them when they tabled a ‘big-money bid’ to guarantee that the players are residing in the Hilton Hotel in Wembley. Blues were quick to make their booking and paid a higher price than Liverpool, which saw the Reds side at a ‘less luxurious’ Novotel.
Meanwhile, Liverpool has stayed at that hotel before their clash with Chelsea in the 2022 domestic cup finals, as it provides their players with excellent facilities and the right mindset before heading to the stadium.
It seems that the hotel’s strategies were unsuccessful. It’s strange that we lost the championship game even though Chelsea chose to stay at the Reds’ favoured hotel. Before the final, players shouldn’t focus on it as it puts more pressure on them. Instead, it depends on their mentality and how they keep themselves occupied and away from game tension.
Booking the opposition’s hotels doesn’t really work, though, as your performance is the only factor that counts in these games. We were undoubtedly the superior team, but repeating the same thing over and over won’t make a difference.

It will take several seasons for our team to evolve into the one that we all want to see because we have an inexperienced squad. But the idea of Chelsea booking a hotel where Liverpool had been earlier really changed nothing, and it’s amusing.
