Ally McCoist chooses Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo as the ‘flop’ of the season
Renowned football pundit Ally McCoist names Chelsea star Moises Caicedo as the ‘flop of the season’, per The Mirror. Caicedo’s underwhelming season despite a hefty price tag is what gets him under McCoist’s list. Speaking to talkSPORT BET, the former footballer said:
“Moises Caicedo, I saw him a couple of times, particularly at Old Trafford with Enzo Fernandez in the middle of the park, and both of them were, for a quarter of a billion pounds, not great… Caicedo would certainly get my vote over Onana.”
Manchester United duo Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana were also on the list for Ally McCoist. The pundit also commented about Enzo Fernandez’s subpar season but didn’t add him to his top three.
Speaking about the Manchester United pair, they are one of the several United players, enduring a ‘season to forget’. Surprisingly, Antony or Martial didn’t come under McCoist’s radar.

Moises Caicedo left Brighton to join the West London outfits in August for a Premier League record transfer fee. The Blues beat Liverpool in a lengthy battle to land the Ecuadorian. Jurgen Klopp must be thanking his stars for the turnaround of events.
Mauricio Pochettino splashed €116.00 million for the midfielder. He has featured for Chelsea in 27 games this season across all competitions but couldn’t provide any breakthrough performance. The 22-year-old has been the subject of talks, mostly negative, throughout the season.
Ally McCoist’s label of ‘The flop of the season’ will add another nail to his misery. The 22-year-old could salvage his season by gunning for the title alongside his team. Chelsea will be taking on Liverpool in the EFL final on 25th February.
