Two Chelsea stars, Cole Palmer and Dorde Petrovic, have been nominated for the Premier League month award. Palmer has been included in the list of eight nominees for Premier League Player of the Month.
Meanwhile, Petrovic, who recently made his debut, has already stamped his authority between the sticks and is now named on the Premier League Saves of the Month list.
Since being signed last summer, both stars have proven their prowess. Despite not playing much in the first half of the season, Serbian custodian Petrovic made the most of his opportunities and is currently Chelsea’s best goalie.
Meanwhile, the England international has been sensational since his acquisition and making waves for the Blues. Palmer has instantly recorded eight goals and four assists in 17 Premier League games.
The Blues are also unbeaten in their last two games after facing the top-five sides in their previous games. Their January games are much easier, and if they manage to win all of them, then we can expect them to challenge for the top-four spot by the end of the season.
There hasn’t been a single match when Palmer hasn’t performed like a mature player. Palmer has been at the pinnacle of his game. Even when he isn’t netting goals, he consistently makes some spectacular passes or applies ingenuity to help the Blues take advantage of their opponents. Palmer most definitely merits his award of Premier League Player of the Month.
Petrovic, meanwhile, didn’t play in the season’s first half but had an immediate impact. The Serbian team was handed an opportunity due to Robert Sanchez’s injury, and he did not let us down. Petrovic will undoubtedly compete with Sanchez in the goal when he returns.
The league will announce all the Premier League awards on Friday, January 12, at 11 a.m. Let’s hope Chelsea have some representation in these awards.
