Romano’s latest Victor Osimhen update may not please Chelsea fans: “Nothing at all is happening”

Big boost for Chelsea as European giants now drop out of race for €295k-per-week superstar

Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea and Victor Osimhen rumours aren’t concrete

Fabrizio Romano provides a new update on Chelsea and Arsenal’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen and confirms there isn’t any serious interest, to the best of his knowledge.

The Blues are understood to be heavily linked with a move for Osimhen and might be looking to make a move for the striker next summer window to address their goalscoring dilemma.

The Napoli striker has signed a new contract, and as per the report, he now has a release clause that interested clubs will have to activate if they intend to sign him this summer.

There has been plenty of news that Osimhen is keen on joining the Blues, and the West London club will be looking to make a move for him, but Fabrizio Romano updated his confidence that there isn’t anything serious after he told his YouTube channel and said:

“Victor Osimhen is always in rumours, and big clubs around Europe are looking for a striker, and about Chelsea and Arsenal, the links are always there. But once again, guys, nothing is happening for Osimhen.”

Romano’s news on transfers is always true because he is the best source. But until the summer window, we will hear plenty of such news from other outlets regarding the Osimhen and Chelsea situation.

Fabrizio Romano says it isn't concrete that Chelsea will make move for Osimhen.

Osimhen has a large release clause of between €120 million and €130 million, so there are a lot of things the Blues must do before deciding to sign him. We also need to make sufficient funds to meet FFP before signing Osimhen. It appears improbable that the Blues are in a position to sign the former LOSC Lille striker in January.

We currently have Christopher Nkunku, who has a wealth of experience, but he must avoid picking up injuries if we plan on counting on him, as well as Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson, who should aim to make contributions in front of the goal until the end of the season.
