Chelsea are looking at Jhon Duran as their short-term striker signing
Chelsea have joined AC Milan to recruit Aston Villa youngster Jhon Duran to solve their short-term striker issues. Duran has been decided on by the board as a temporary solution after the Blues’ lack of goals once more pushed them to search for a striker in the January transfer window.
Other rumours have linked the Blues with loan moves for Karim Benzema and Robert Firmino. However, FFP restrictions could make the West Londoners sign players for lower fees, as they have already spent hefty money in previous transfer windows.
New signing Nicolas Jackson has been inconsistent since joining the club and is now set to be unavailable until February due to the African Cup of Nations.
However, the club is weighing up a short-term fix for a striker, and the 20-year-old has been targeted by the club. A loan-term deal could be possible if the player impresses the board. But the striker has finally opened up after being linked with AC Milan and Chelsea, (h/t Football.London), and he told WinSportsTV:
“I have my head in Aston Villa. I am not aware of any interest in AC Milan or Chelsea. They are giant clubs, and it would be a pleasure, but I have no knowledge of anything. As a child, you dream of playing there.”
The Chelsea board seems to not be in the right mindset to solve their goal-scoring dilemma by signing young players. This just explains their lack of understanding of transfers, because why do we need a youngster to be a short-term fix for the goalscoring problem?
However, it is absurd to acquire him as Chelsea’s primary striker; the team’s next striker acquisition needs to be at least as good as Jackson and on the verge of being world-class.

Duran has played 14 Premier League games and just has two goals, and if we proceed to sign him, then it will be a massive joke for us because we are not taking our development seriously and just signing anyone at this point. Hopefully, this is a rumour and not true because Firmino and Benzema will be much better options than Duran.
