Mauricio Pochettino singles out one Chelsea player who is doing a ‘fantastic job’ despite uncertain future at the club

Chelsea are open to selling Conor Gallagher to Premier League rivals

Mauricio Pochettino has always appreciated Conor Gallagher’s game, and he knows how much he has transformed his game under him, which is the reason the Chelsea manager has started the England international in almost all the matches.

However, despite making such advancements in his game, Gallagher finds himself uncertain about Chelsea’s future as the Blues prepare to offload him to make some profit from their big spending last summer.

The West London club is ready to accept offers in the range of £50–60 million, and the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have expressed interest, but the 23-year-old wants to fight for his stay at his childhood club.

In response to a question concerning the academy player’s future and his handling of it, Pochettino made it clear that he want him to stay in that position, (h/t Evening Standard), and said:

“I think he’s doing a fantastic job; he’s working well, and he’s helping the club, us, and his teammates a lot. We are happy with his performances. He has an advantage because he knows the club. He knows the demands of the Premier League. We are so happy with him.”

Gallagher, who used to play for Chelsea’s academy and ardently represents the team, is one of the club’s identities. He will undoubtedly be picked the captain for tonight’s game because his character has earned him this. However, since the team needs to turn a profit, anything can happen to a player, and they will undoubtedly need to let go of some individuals who can bring in enormous sums of revenue.

Gallagher’s performance has improved, and clubs are keen on signing him. The Chelsea board will be happy to sell him if the bidders meet his asking price. But his exit will be a huge blow for us as Pochettino will lose big asset in the midfield.

Along with Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, he has forged our midfield. However, his departure will leave a gap that we are unsure other midfielders will be able to cover. So, let’s wait and see what transpires.
