Cesare Casadei’s Chelsea debut date has been reaffirmed by Mauricio Pochettino, following the Blues’ desire to bring him back from a loan at Leicester City.
The Argentine manager said the midfielder may not be available for the Chelsea Carabao Cup game against Middlesbrough and the FA Cup match versus Aston Villa.
However, on January 30, he might make his team debut against Liverpool. Casadei’s brief stint at Leicester was noteworthy, which is exactly why the Blues chose to bring the midfield player back.
But the club’s injuries were another factor in the Blues’ decision to bring him back. He is now poised to leave a mark at Chelsea, (h/t Football.London), but the supporters will have to patiently wait for his debut after Pochettino stated:
“I think it was fantastic. He was doing really well. In the pre-season, he worked really, really well, and he was one of the players for whom we suffered a little bit to allow him to go. I hope he can help.”
“Tomorrow is not possible because he played with Leicester in the Carabao Cup and in the FA Cup also, so he’s not available on Friday, too, but yes, in the Premier League, maybe he can be involved and be part of the squad.”
Casadei Chelsea’s opportunity will arrive, but we will have to wait patiently since using him in a critical game like the FA Cup or Carabao Cup against Aston Villa could expose him to opposition. Therefore, we must wait for the right opportunity and hand him his debut.
Although his comeback is thought to provide the team with greater depth and quality, and he appears ready to play for us, Pochettino will gradually shape him into a competent player by the end of this season.
It’s just a matter of time until he makes his debut and becomes a fundamental part of the squad next season.
