A View From The Bridge

Chelsea target Antonio Nusa’s Brentford transfer collapsed due to ‘serious’ reason

Chelsea target Antonio Nusa failed his Brentford medical test

Chelsea target Antonio Nusa’s move to Brentford collapsed after the forward failed his medical test. The Bees reached an agreement with Club Brugge to sign Nusa for £23.5 million.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were also eager to sign Nusa, but the Bees persisted in their pursuit of him and eventually reached an agreement with the Belgian team. However, they will no longer have the chance to sign the forward in the unfortunate circumstance.

However, during medical treatment, a potential knee injury was found, which is understood to be serious and has stalled his move to the Bees. Both clubs will continue their talks about the transfer in this window now seems unlikely.

Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has given further updates on the player’s injury and shed some light on whether the transfer will happen, (h/t Sun), and said:

“Brentford’s move for the Norwegian Neymar is off after a potentially serious injury was found in his medical. potentially quite serious.”.

Given the club’s injury list, Nusa would have been another player on it, so Chelsea will feel somewhat relieved that they dodged signing an ailing player. The forward sustained a significant knee injury and given that Christopher Nkunku’s recovery took at least five months, it has taken months for him to fully heal.

Antonio Nusa’s move to Brentford collapsed after forward failed his medical test.

Since he has failed his medical, he will now return to Brugge, as the transfer is unlikely to happen and the forward might go through scans on his knee to determine the severity of the injury.

Should things go worse, surgery might be necessary, which would keep him out of action until the conclusion of the season. As a result, the Blues saved themselves from having another injured player, and we shouldn’t even have considered signing Nusa because we have enough players to fill his roles. Furthermore, since our initial objective is to sell some players, it would have been challenging to sign him in January.
