According to Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea wants to make use of the Paulo Dybala €12 million release clause, which is only valid for foreign clubs. The 2022 World Cup winner has been flourishing under Jose Mourinho at AS Roma. If any team decides to trigger his minimal release clause, the Argentine will have the last say, and it will be a huge coup for the clubs.
Considering the calibre he will bring to the team, his signing will be fantastic for the club. He is an excellent finisher, and the team he will play for will benefit much from his grasp of the game.
The 30-year-old joined AS Roma from Juventus and led them to the UEFA Conference League in his first season, scoring 18 goals in 38 matches. The forward has continued to find the back of the net regularly, as he has scored five goals in 13 matches this campaign in Serie A.
Meanwhile, Dybala’s contract with Roma ends in 2025, but whichever club decides to activate his clause, Roma won’t have any choice but to let him leave.
Chelsea currently have plenty of options in their attacking unit, and signing Dybala doesn’t make sense because, on the right, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke have occupied the spot.
But their injury crisis may force them to look for some recruitment because the club has a lengthy list of injured players, and most of their players are young and have yet to break through.
At some point, it also makes sense to sign Dybala because he will provide experience to the youthful team, something that Mauricio Pochettino, who prefers experienced players, will like.
Dybala is a clinical goal scorer as well, and with our creative midfielder, he will have more opportunities to score. So let’s see if the West Londoners will activate the release clause from Juventus.
