Chelsea looking at signing Belgium midfielder who plays in the Premier League

Chelsea set to revive interest in Amadou Onana once they sell Conor Gallagher

Chelsea looks to have finally found a replacement for Conor Gallagher in Amadou Onana. The Blues will target the Belgium midfielder once they sell their academy star to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to TeamTalk, (h/t Express) the club will reignite their interest in the Belgian midfielder. Onana has flourished at Everton, who are battling a relegation zone and if they fail to escape demotion to the Championship, then the 22-year-old could consider leaving the club.

Famous transfer guru David Ornstein has told Sky Sports the Blues are ready to accept decent offers from Tottenham for the England international and will look to offload the midfielder before the winter window transfer deadline day.

The Blues appear to have hit their financial fair play cap due to their heavy transfer spending, and any spending could result in the team breaking the regulation.

The club’s primary objective currently is to turn a profit so that it can recruit additional players this summer, and Gallagher is thought to be a potential academy talent whose departure will enable the team to generate earnings.

The team will soon turn a profit, and Gallagher is the one whose value appears to have gone up following his season-long performance. and we will undoubtedly need an alternative for him. Onana, who is only 22 years old but has plenty of experience, seems to be the ideal choice to take his place.

He is tall and boasts plenty of quality as a defensive midfielder, and he will cover up the space alongside Moises Caicedo and add a steal to the midfield. He is also technically gifted and won’t take long to settle at the club.

He had a breakout season last year, and the Blues were drawn in by it. However, we were unable to complete the transfer because we intended to sign Moises Caicedo, our long-term aim. But this time, the Blues might come back to sign him, and once we begin to pump in sufficient funds, we know our board will do everything in its power to reach our target.
