Blockbuster Chelsea transfer target confirms he is interested in Premier League move: “Everyone will know”

Chelsea target Victor Osimhen reveals Premier League dream

According to Fabrizio Romano via X, Chelsea target Victor Osimhen has downplayed any immediate move from Napoli but has left the door open regarding a future transfer to the Premier League.

The striker is currently representing Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations and is keen to replicate his club form to the international stage. One of the world’s finest strikers, he now has the opportunity to lead the Super Eagles to the title.

The centre-forward has penned down a fresh deal with a new release clause at Napoli, and the Blues remain in the fray to sign the 25-year-old next summer. But then, that is to be expected given our lack of a reliable goalscorer.

When asked about his future, the former LOSC Lille player claimed he wasn’t considering any moves and that he would wait and see what would occur, and he further told Sky Sports, quoted by Fabrizio Romano:

“Of course, one day I’d love to play in the Premier League, definitely. But for now, I’ve got other plans for my career. When the time comes, everyone will know.”

Osimhen is in his mid 20s and has all the experience and pedigree to become one of the finest strikers to ever emerge from Africa. He proved it last season when he led Napoli to the Scudetto for the first time since 1990. Napoli are ninth in the league, and it looks like the club has fallen in performance.

If they continue to perform like this, then it will be better for the Nigerian striker to look for other clubs that always compete at the highest level. Chelsea are not there yet under Mauricio Pochettino but securing a prolific striker will certainly accelerate the club’s progress in the right direction.

The centre forward is still a target for Chelsea, and his arrival will provide plenty of goal-scoring characteristics up front. But with the summer approaching, there may be other teams looking to sign him, making the competition tougher. Moreover, he now has a release clause.

Osimhen remains a top target for Chelsea, who have a history of spending large sums of money on players they truly want. It is unclear whether they will plan to pursue him in the summer.
