According to Opta analyst, Chelsea will finish 12th after the end of the season. The Blues are currently 12th in the table following a 2-0 defeat to Everton. It was their 18th league defeat in 2023, as they only accumulated 39 points in a calendar year.
When it comes to statistics, Chelsea have been one of the poorest sides in that term. The club was taken over by a new owner last season, which saw a change in the structure of the club.
The Blues have already seen over £1bn spent in the last three transfer windows under Todd Boehly; this includes £288m worth of transfers in January before spending more than £380m in the summer.
Despite so many changes, Chelsea are still hanging on the bottom half of the table under Mauricio Pochettino, who succeeded Graham Potter this season.

If we improve by next year, then OPTA will undoubtedly make different predictions. Although there have been numerous performance improvements, there are still issues that need to be fixed because this youthful team is frequently overwhelmed.
