Pundit makes Mykhaylo Mudryk point as he urges Chelsea to end striker hoodoo by signing €120m star

Pat Nevin says Chelsea should sell Mykhaylo Mudryk to fund Victor Osimhen’s signing

Pat Nevin has suggested Chelsea sell Mykhaylo Mudryk to fund Victor Osimhen’s signing. The Blues goalscoring crisis has persisted this season after they fell short against Manchester United.

The Blues had plenty of chances to draw the game, but their toothlessness in front of the goal cost them the game, which is something to worry about.

This could force the Blues to look for a striker in either January or the next summer transfer window, and they have been linked with the likes of Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson’s move to Chelsea hasn’t paid dividends in the game. It has been seen how the striker has struggled to make the most of his chances with his lack of experience in front of the net.

If this continues until January, then Chelsea might look to bring in a proven striker, Nevin believes Osimhen is the ideal candidate, but he also suggested they should sell Mudryk to fund the Nigerian striker, (h/t Metro) as he told BestGamblingSites:

‘‘I thought Victor Osimhen was the man a few years ago, and I still think he is. Chelsea have cashed in on Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and others before, and they can do it again. It’s just business. It may not be for the fans, but it certainly is for the owners.’’

‘I’d imagine he’s the one Chelsea will go for. A lot of teams would be interested in Mudryk! I’m not saying Chelsea should get rid of him, but Chelsea will have to sell someone if they want to get a striker as good as Osimhen in the door.”

Nevin makes a ridiculous statement, as Chelsea sold Mason Mount because the player refused to sign a contract extension with the club and we didn’t want to lose him for nothing. Meanwhile, the Blues received a good offer from Manchester City to get rid of Mateo Kovacic.

Because the Blues think the Ukrainian will be the team’s future star, it is quite improbable that Chelsea will trade Mudryk to pay for Osimhen’s acquisition. The team hasn’t shied away from spending a lot of money to get elite players under Todd Boehly, and if Chelsea feels they are in dire need of a striker, we can do the same.

It wouldn’t be a good idea to act hastily, so we should wait and assess the issue first. Since Christopher Nkunku is an experienced forward who can assure us of goals, let’s wait for him to arrive and see how he adjusts. Malang Sirr and Trevoh Chalobah could see the exit gate in January or next summer, and their departure could bring us a respectable profit.
