Noni Madueke tells teammates one thing they must do for Chelsea to be a ‘really good team’

Chelsea star Noni Madueke calls for more ‘consistency’ after Crystal Palace win

Chelsea’s recent victory against Crystal Palace marked a six-game unbeaten streak at Stamford Bridge in all competitions and served as a stepping stone to close the gap with teams above them in the Premier League table. The win sets the stage for Saturday’s upcoming fixture against Luton Town.

Noni Madueke, who has been struggling for game time throughout his time at Stamford Bridge, came off the bench in the 71st minute and scored a late penalty with extreme levels of composure ensuring that the Blues salvage all three points against a stubborn Crystal Palace side.

Despite the positive results, the former PSV man acknowledged the need for further improvement. In a post-match reflection, Madueke underscored the importance of consistency for Chelsea’s current campaign, identifying it as a pivotal factor for sustained success.

Noni Madueke calls for more consistency from his Chelsea team-mates.

Here is what Madueke told the club’s official website about the need for more consistency from the bunch of players

“It’s about consistency for us at the moment, that is the big thing,”

“We play good football and are scoring goals now – I remember last season we weren’t scoring those goals. We’re probably conceding a few too many but I just feel it’s that consistency we need to get down. Once we do, we’ll be a really good team.”

He went on to highlight the positive aspects of Chelsea’s current performance, noting their ability to play attractive football and score goals. Drawing a comparison to the previous season, he recalled a time when the team struggled to find the back of the net.

While celebrating the offensive prowess displayed by the team, Madueke also acknowledged a concern regarding conceding too many goals. This balanced assessment indicates a keen awareness of the team’s strengths and areas that warrant attention.

The call for consistency reflects an understanding that sustained success requires a reliable and uniform level of performance. Madueke’s comments suggest a collective aspiration within the squad to elevate Chelsea into a top-tier team by addressing the fluctuations in their game. However, with an injury-laid side, it is tough to overcome multiple challenges altogether.

Mauricio Pochettino would be proud of the effort his Chelsea team put up against a resolute Crystal Palace side.

Once the huge roster is fit and we have our best XI to choose from regularly, we can outrun the opponents. Under Todd Boehly, the focus has been on getting on board quality youngsters, and hopefully, the Blues bear fruit sooner rather than later.
