Jose Mourinho reminds Arsene Wenger how Chelsea ruined his special Arsenal milestone

Chelsea demolished Arsenal 6-0 when Arsene Wenger oversaw his 1000 game as Arsenal manager

Jose Mourinho has recalled his famous day as Chelsea’s manager when hsi side annihilated Arsenal 6-0. It came on a day when Arsene Wenger was managing his 1000th game as Gunners’ manager.

Because of his brilliance in establishing Chelsea into a top-flight team during a time when only Manchester United and Arsenal, led by Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger, were contending for the league, he is the reason Chelsea is now a powerful club in Europe.

The Portuguese manager is also famous for taking jabs at other head coaches and calling Wenger a ‘specialist in failure.’ And when the two guys came against each other during the Frenchman’s 1000th game, Mourinho made it worse.

Arsenal’s greatest manager Arsene Wenger was a force to be reckoned with.

Appearing on John Obi-Mikel’s podcast Obi One via X, he shared details of how things went with the former Arsenal manager and told:

“The only thing Arsene Wenger can’t forget is that on his match number 1000, which is a match to remember and to celebrate, it was Chelsea 6-0 Arsenal.”

The special one.

Mourinho has a history of clashing with rival managers. He was at odds with Pep Guardiola while he was in Spain, and he was in conflict with Arsène Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson when he was named manager of the Blues.

The Portuguese manager has frequently been credited for making Chelsea into a team that challenged the stranglehold that Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson had on the Premier League title .

Nevertheless, after Mourinho was hired, Chelsea won the championships in 2004–05 and 2005–06, and in 2014–15, he was appointed once more.

His tactical acumen has the ability to transform a mediocre team into an elite one. We have witnessed this with other clubs, including Porto, and most recently, AS Roma, who won the UEFA Conference League the previous season. He is among the greatest managers in history and will always be the special one.
